The Woodshots Blues

This trio was composed on the occasion of the annual musicweek at Woudschoten (Holland), better known as
“Summercourse Woudschoten”.

Every year, during the summer, over a hundred young amateur musicians get together at the conference centre Woudschoten, beautifully situated in the woods, in order to attempt, under enthusiastic and professional guidance, to master the art of ensemble-playing in all its different varieties.

This trio was also performed with great success and enjoyment (in a double setting) at the final concert in 2005 of the school of music at Capelle a/d IJssel.

mp3, Sonata Classica middle part, Harry Koopman piano 3,9 Mb ALL

(You hear the version for piano)

This piece is an arrangement of the second part of my “Sonata Classica” for piano. It has some slightly classical elements and a beautiful cantilina-like theme which is alternately performed by the three voices. That is why it is very attractive to play all three parts.

Both pieces are technically uncomplicated and perfectly suitable for performing.
