Yes, Yes, Nanette

With a whiff of baroque and even a faint reminder of Für Elise on page 3 it is a work full of variety, sounding almost "virtuoso".

-

Little Ingrid's waltz

A baby-waltz as a present..

Shining waters

Anybody home?

423Kb mp3

It was with rather a guilty conscience that I wrote Anybody home? for the 10-year-old pupil Jan Willem whom I had totally forgotten while working in my back garden on a beautiful sunny day. I never heard him calling "hello, anybody home?" See also John William's walking blues in series 4.

Sunday morning chat

A consolation for my mother who always felt so distressed when listening to "When summer is over".

Lazy sister

I was inspired by the beat of a pop song I once heard on my car radio. I stopped the car, made a note of the rhythm and, once at home, started to work on it. One of my pupils was so fond of this piece that he on his turn wrote his very first composition which he dedicated to his piano teacher.
