It was with rather a guilty conscience that I wrote Anybody home? for the 10-year-old pupil Jan Willem whom I had totally forgotten while working in my back garden on a beautiful sunny day. I never heard him calling "hello, anybody home?" See also John William's walking blues in series 4. |

I was inspired by the beat of a pop song I once heard on my car radio. I stopped the car, made a note of the rhythm and, once at home, started to work on it. One of my pupils was so fond of this piece that he on his turn wrote his very first composition which he dedicated to his piano teacher. |
