When Linda walks alone

She was 17 and her boyfriend just broke up..

Hommage à C.Dalmaine

Cyril Dalmaine is the composer of a number of very attractive and useful books among which "The Queen's highway". And for one of my pupils I wrote a variation on one of these pieces.

Hommage à Fr.Kuhlau

This variation on the first part of the very well known sonatina op. 20 nr. 1 gets a more popular sound. It is very suitable to perform because it ends in such a manner that the listeners spontaneously start to applaud.

Metro

For a pupil who was equally fond of Bartók and pop music.

Kalundborg

Several years ago we moved to Capelle a/d IJssel and Kalundborg is the street where we live. It also turned out to be a small village at Denmark's coast and in this gray and gloomy piece a vague foghorn can be heard.

Denise

Another birth-present..

Partir c'est ...

 680 Kb mp3

The rather long introduction leads to a sad theme that has everything to do with a tragic event in our circle of friends.

-

Intermezzo

For the new baby of my publisher. I never lack baby-presents!

Allegro con spirito

Every other December an extensive 3-day piano festival for amateurs takes place in the big concert-hall "de Doelen" in Rotterdam. The jury listens to about 320 players in the first round. Candidates may play without any restriction whatever they like as long as they stay within the limit of 5 minutes. This piece takes 3_ to 4 minutes and is, as it turned out, regularly played at competitions for amateurs.
